Policy

We constantly remind our staff, governing board and volunteers to be aware and sensitive to the differences in values, communication styles, primary languages, spirituality, sexuality, gender and definitions of family when providing services to our community. Diversity issues influence every aspect of our work with children and families, from the initial contact, selecting mental health providers, to representing the children interest in the multidisciplinary team and follow up care in the family home.

Kids’ Space policy is that children and families of all backgrounds are welcomed, valued and respected. The agency provides services free of charge regardless of their age, race, color, religion, national origin, gender, martial status, sexual orientation, physical or mental challenges, socio-economic status or any other cultural descriptors. Clients or any one in the community whom we have contacted are treated with respect, dignity and fairness. We will speak out against discrimination and will not tolerate it by our agency.
